Summary:
In this 18-minute-long clip, the speaker gives us some persuasive reasons why we should take notes, and also provides us some useful tips for note-taking, and its importance. First, 30% of the information we heard is incorrect so it is better to take notes and later ask those doubts when taking notes so that we can make sure we took the right notes. Also, the spearker suggests us where is better to sit when in a class. Second, she introduces the "L.I.S.T.E.N." skill to help listeners to take better notes. L means lead; I, ideas; S, summary; T, talk; E, end; N, notes. Each part is important and quite useful. Third, three reasons to take notes are mentioned in the clip: triggering the memory, concentrating, and being clues. However, she also announces some problems encounterd when taking notes. Also, there are some solutions. The most useful way is to ASK. But, the questions are stemmed from note-taking because when we take notes, we might miss some information. Thus, ASKING QUESTIONS is a quite important thing for note-taking. Also, in the end, she introduces two normally-used methods: Conell and Outline. Compared to Outline style, Cornell's is more systematical. However, the speakers still emphasizes that we have to develpe our own style of note-taking. The last but not least, she give a strong emphasis on edit and re-write work. By doing so, we can refresh our memory in the previous class and the content in order to re-organise the ideas and make them our own.

Writing or composition, as its very basic definition, is the act of combining parts or elements to form a whole. However, to many people, especially those who are faced with the challenge of exams, they don't have such a leisurely and carefree mood to do that. Indeed, in the high school times, it was hard for me to write so many thing on a paper. What's more, it is not just to put things together on, attention: you are not throwing trash to your trash can, and give to the teacher, unless you want to get a very embarrassing score, it is not really recommanded.
Little by little, one day when practicing writing with my cute Nippon shapu pencil, I found something interesting. The words on the paper seemed not odd any more. Instead, they looked quite familiar, just like my relatives and ex-boyfriends. They are so close mentally but still faraway physically. However, rather than step back and jump out of my cute wood chair, I summoned up my courage and studied them. Out of my expectation, I appreciated the joy of composition.
Since I entered the university, I have written lots of articles. Well, most of them are about LOVE. It is very cliched. I know, but I just cannot help but write a lot. The reason I write LOVE is because this is the only thing that I experience most of my life. Without LOVE, I don't believe there's anyone able to survive. Perhaps love is really unique and vital to me. Lots of cognition emerge in my heart after my personal experience and sometimes when there's no one you can tell, even your BEST friends are busy with their LOVE STUFF, the best way to convey my feelings is to WRITE.
While writing, it is complete tranquil, peace but sometimes, joy and passion. As for me, writing is just like cooking. In the kitchen, with all the materials in front of me, "this or that" is a question. So does writing. In the study, with all the emotions inside, to write a little or a lot is a BIG question. How to arrange the emotion and concentrate it into the most delicious plate is really interesting but hard. So, as many chefs, only to endlessly practice the skill and realize the characteristics of each element can they fulfill the premier cuisine. So do the writers. Practice is a very important task for them. Sunny or rainny, windy or cloudy, they will record down what they have perceived. Depicting every good and bad moments in life really attracts me. When I have no cameras, recorders, etc., I can write with my own hands. I write because I live.
